After travelling for 24 hours around the globe I finally reached my destination in Hawaii, and after two more hours, I was settling down in my room at Ohia student suites. Now I’ve been here for five days, trying to adapt to my new life and get all my things in order, as well as going to the school (which is just across the road) to get all the necessary information. So there’s not been too much fun stuff going on this weekend, although I did enjoy a surfing lesson on saturday which was awesome! The water was nice and hot, the waves were great, and I managed to stand up and have a good run several times! I felt really proud and happy afterwards, although a bit knackered and sore the next day.. But I’m definitely going to try that some more :D
Today was my first day at school and I met my three fellow classmates and had some lessons that made me feel like I was in High School again. It was great! I love having a teacher telling me to read this and answer that, instead of going to lectures with 600 other students at a university. I have the Certificate in Advanced English-preparation class, where I’m being prepared for the CAE-exam in June. It’s a very valuable and internationally renowned exam provided by the Cambridge University, so I guess it’s smart to take it now that I have the opportunity, even though I hear it’s tough and takes a lot of studying.
But for now I’m going out in the nice weather (it’s two o’clock in the afternoon here) and have some lunch. I would have gone to the beach, but my body has quite a few sunburns here and there (even behind the ear!!) so I’ll have to wear a t-shirt and stay away from sunexposure the next few days. But what the hell, I got nine months to get a tan, so there’s no rush. I’ll post some pictures when I get back.
Aloha.
